Kay Rowe Nursery School

London based Dance Artist

Over the last 24 years I have developed an extensive dance and movement practice working alongside young babies to ninety-plus year olds. I frequently work with those facing challenging circumstances, such as health issues, trauma, economic deprivation and special educational needs and disabilities. My work takes place in children’s centres, nurseries, schools, colleges, day centres, sheltered housing, hospices and hospitals as well as more traditional arts and cultural settings. It takes place in the form of regular (weekly or monthly) sessions, one off projects and specific events.

My participatory practice has led to vast experience and I deliver continuing professional development training at conferences and symposiums nationally for local authorities, dance, music and arts organisations.

I enjoy mentoring younger or less experienced dance artists and individuals, please contact me for more information.

Previous work and training has included People Dancing, Scottish Ballet, Dance East, Trinity Laban, Barbican Guildhall, The Victoria & Albert Museum, Spitalfields Music, Dance Art Foundation, Green Candle Dance Company, Scottish Dance Theatre, Dance Network Association and the London Boroughs of Hammersmith & Fulham, Hackney, Barking & Dagenham and Newham.

I have danced since I was three. I graduated with Single (Hons) Contemporary Dance from De Montfort University in 1998.

I completed a Living Anatomy course in 2018 and I am a qualified Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapist.

Dance is my life breath.
